On Sunday evening, 16 August 2026, the people of Gabugan Hamlet held tirakatan as part of the celebration of the 81st anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The gatherings took place within the respective neighbourhoods and were attended by local residents. Although the activities were simple, they created a warm atmosphere and brought people together.
The event began with an opening session, followed by remarks from the Regent of Sleman. The residents then joined a communal prayer. The programme continued with the singing of Indonesia Raya, Indonesia’s national anthem.
