Gabugan Tourism Village

Gabugan Tourism Village is a community-based tourism village that offers a natural rural atmosphere. Established in 2004, Gabugan Tourism Village is an independent tourism village, boasting a wealth of experience and awards in managing and organizing tourism activities. Located at the foot of Mount Merapi, south of the Kaliurang tourist attraction, Gabugan Tourism Village is located in Donokerto Village, Turi District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. It is situated between two temples: Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple. Located 17 km from the center of Yogyakarta, with a travel time of approximately 45 minutes, it offers easy access for large vehicles such as buses.

Gabugan Tourism Village offers a recreational atmosphere unlike other tourist attractions, as it prioritizes education, in keeping with Yogyakarta's nickname, "The City of Learners." The activities are designed in an engaging manner, in accordance with experiential tourism principles, where tourists participate in activities and are invited to learn and participate in activities within the village community. Gabugan Tourism Village maintains a strong village atmosphere, upholding Javanese traditions and culture. Visitors truly experience the comfort and coolness of rural life, set against a backdrop of panoramic mountain views, blending in with daily activities.

Gabugan Tourism Village offers activities and research based on nature, social life, culture, home industries, agriculture, plantations, fisheries, and animal husbandry. All activities reflect the daily activities of the local residents, with a total of 10 activities available for tourists to participate in. Gabugan Tourism Village has 50 standardized homestays available for overnight stays. The homestay concept in Gabugan Tourism Village is based on a local's home, so tourists not only experience the experience but also gain a new family. Experienced local guides, some of whom are certified as tour guides, outbound guides, and tracking guides, are ready to assist and accompany tourists in their activities and exploration of Gabugan Tourism Village.
